LESSON 3 : THE MINISTRY OF MINSTRELS

 This lesson was inspired by a question.

Question: Ephesians 4:11-13 talks about how about how God blessed the church with the ministry gifts. If the fivefold ministry talks about the (Apostles, Teachers, Evangelists, Pastors and Preachers),where can we place minstrels?

 Answer: That the ministry of minstrels wasn’t listed among the fivefold ministry doesn’t make it unimportant as a ministry to God.

INTRODUCTION

The validity of a ministry in the body comes from whatever the scriptures say and the scripture refer many times to minstrels both in the old and New Testament.

The five fold ministry was given attention because of doctrinal upbringing and leadership in the body.

This also places the five fold ministry on a higher pedestal hierarchically.

These ministries are interdependent and inter functional 🤝

You can be in any of these ministries or every one of them but usually people notice major strengths in one or two and begin to build, but minstrels must build also.

While minstrels function by skill and anointing, the five fold ministry functions by appointment and ordination.

EVERYONE HAS BEEN CALLED TO THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION- leading men to God, it is therefore expedient that everyone function in their respective ministries as oracles of God. 🗣️

Minstrels must be equipped and if they notice a call to any of the ministries(Five fold), they must build on it, not for fame or respect, but for the purpose of winning souls back to God.

 If a minstrel doesn’t have any of these (five fold ministry call) and functions purely as a Levite,(instrumentalists are one of such🎺🎷🥁) , it doesn’t leave room for lackadaisical or irresponsible behavior. You shouldn't have wrong mindset about Gods work, the scripture says EVERY MAN'S WORK will be tested. 

Understanding the work of Minstrels

-Minstrels stand in the position of the musical levites🎤, they minister unto the Lord in psalms and hymns 📖. They also minister to edify the saints. Another thing minstrels do is serve 🙇🏼‍♂️ under the ministry of a leader who functions in any of the given five fold ministries with a strong proof of Gods call upon him/her and that vessel has track record of consistency in character and responsibility. 🫂

-It is a must for minstrels🎼🎹 to know God so that they will function optimally in their position, they must also be excellent in this their field of purpose to edify God's people as God would love them to.

-They must also be void of pride. 🙇🏼‍♂️

It is generally known that music gets to the soul.  Goose pimples😊 and the likes  are not enough when you sing or play, the message must be clear and the minstrel's life must show it.🙏🏻

Referential words in scripture include begat, bear, delivered(contextual) etc.  Some others which may show the process include conceived, bare etc. WHAT IS BIRTH? LESSON 1 : GROWTH IN ITSELF

GROWTH IN ITSELF it is recorded in Luke that Jesus GREW,in wisdom, in stature, and in Favour with God and Man. Paul the Apostle said in one of his epistles, that Childhood brought the acting and thinking pattern of a child, but Adulthood is characterized by the putting away of childish things.  Everything stated about growth shows how much it’s greatest effects are on you and how much of a personal thing it is.
