Lesson 10: Acceptable Worship
Think of Food (and that is something our worship has been compared to for God many times)
not focusing on the detailed intricacies but wholistically speaking, there is what is GENERALLY considered ACCEPTABLE for consumption, some generally acceptable conditions in this case may be that its nature when about to be consumed MUST NOT BE RAW
some form of processing must have happened to bring the food to a state where it can easily be received and eaten by person be it normal food processing which is cooking or digital processing e.g snacks processing
Now, that being said, even in a generation where everybody seems to be singing but we're not sure if God is pleased with our sounds, our words or our heart posture, please know and accept that there is a STANDARD ACCEPTABLE WORSHIP, and the way a good fresh hot meal served before you by your mom or a loved one is undebatably congestible, whilst a poorly prepared meal or something served with dirt is undoubtedly inconsumable, Good Worship is acceptable and accepted by God and Bad Worship or Unnacceptable Worship is just doing activities and worship is not rising.
is there a secret to God accepting our worship? Yes but its not really a secret when its details are readily unveilable for all who care to understand, helpful scriptures on this matter would be Isaiah 29:13 requoted by Jesus himself in Matthew 15:8 that says "these people honour me with their lips but their hearts are far from me. So a God who sees the inside that men cant see marks good worship based on proximity of heart to himself.
Even as humans, we almost can tell whose heart we're in and heart and the other way round, how much more God who knows everything and everyone.
James 4:8a Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
The most valuable celebrations and acknowledgement come from those closest to us and this is an indicator that our worship means more both to us and to God when we have established a close communicative relationship with this God whom we cant see but we see his works and his hands in our lives everyday. Even in the case of Cain and Abel, its not stated why God rejected Cains offering but God says to Cain in Genesis 4 that if he had done well, his offering would have been accepted too, I put it to you, as pertaining to acceptable worship that must have been referring to his knowledge of presenting heartfelt offering and not just anything possible just because.
Genuine heartfelt worship to a God we are close to will make our Worship Acceptable and this formula remains constant.
