Lesson 12 : The Transforming Power of Light in a Believer

The transformative power of light in a believer is a profound concept rooted in Scripture. As the Bible says, "The word of the Lord is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105), this light is the Word of God, which has the power to guide and transform us (Hebrews 4:12).

As believers, we are transformed daily by the Word of God, which enables us to fulfill God's perfect will (Romans 12:1). This transformation occurs when the light of God's Word shines inwardly.

Jesus' life serves as an exemplary model of walking in light (John 1:4). As we allow God's Word to transform us from within, we can make a profound impact by being a transformative agent, shining the light of God's love and redemption to a world in need.

The story of Jacob illustrates this transformative power. Before becoming Israel, Jacob faced numerous challenges and was unprofitable. However, after encountering God and receiving a blessing – a word from God – his life was transformed from littleness to greatness. The Bible says, "The Lord sent a word unto Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel" (Isaiah 9:8). This transformation had a profound impact, not only on Jacob's life but also on the entire nation of Israel. The transformation of a man can, indeed, lighten up a city.

When we open our heart to the impact of light through his word, we will experience greatness in all areas of life (business, academics, career, ministry).

The interaction between a person and the word of God can transform the world.

How Can We Receive Transformation by His Word?

1. Through thorough meditation on the scripture,

2. Prayer for enlightenment and understanding of the Word

3. Fellowshipping with  brethren

4. Doing the Word (“If any man will do his will, he will know of the doctrine, whether it be of God or…” John 7:17)

In conclusion, brethren, surrendering your heart to God and being intentional about receiving daily transformation through the renewal of your mind is crucial. Because Jabob did not become great by lightly handling the matter. He fought both spiritually and physically.
As you allow God's Word to transform you, you will inevitably make a profound impact, influencing the lives of those under your jurisdiction and beyond. The more you encounter "the Word", the greater the transformation, and consequently, you will transform others.
